Put on the Pants
My little brother Dallin is a funny boy.
He's created himself a blog.
Follow it. I know you will be entertained!
.
ps. My left eyelid has been twitching for three days. How do I make it stop?

Sigh...
I'm going to be 24 in 6 months. That seems old. Turning 23 wasn't bad (other than the fact that I lost my flight benefits...boo). It still sounds young. 24 is pushing it. Then next I'll be 25....then 26, (which is closer to 30 than it is to 20 FYI)...and then before I know it I'll be "30, flirty, and thriving" (name that movie!). ugh. Let's not talk about it.
.
I know a lot of you are saying "what?! 24 is not old!", and I realize that. I just can't believe that I'm that old. I don't feel like I should be this old. I remember when I was like 12 and just starting young womens as a new Beehive and remember thinking that the Laurel's were SO OLD. Then when I got to college and was a brand-new 18 year old freshman in college I remember thinking that the seniors seemed really old. Then, when I was 21 I remember someone asking me how old I was and what year I was in school, I replied "21 and a junior"....her response?..."wow, you're old. and you're not married?!" Thank you, random girl.
.
As a matter of fact I think I would be totally fine not getting married until I was 27 or 28. If I live to be 90+ like my grandma, what's 27 years of single-ness in the big picture? If I wasn't Mormon, this would be totally normal.
.
I went through a period of time in my life, where a lot of my close friends/roommates got married, and I'll admit it....I was a little depressed/jealous. They were all moving on to the next step of their lives with someone. I was moving on alone.
.
I'm not going to lie, I still get like that sometimes, and I'll probably get like that again when another round of my friends gets married, but now I think back to that time and see that being jealous was stupid. My time will come. I LOVED my time in college being single. I made some of the best friends in the world, got to spend 24/7 with them, and wouldn't trade it for anything. Yes, I do want to get married and happily look forward to it. Someday. I LOVE weddings and would be a wedding planner at the drop of a hat if someone offered it to me. I know that once I get married I'll wonder where he was all my single life, but as of right now, I'm 100% ok with just being ME.
.
Sorry to rant...just some things that have been on my mind lately :) If you're offended, I'm sorry.

Pay It Forward
So like a year ago my friend Tessa had this giveaway thing on her blog where if you were one of the first three to comment, you got a homemade gift from her. I was the third person to comment, so I was the lucky winner of one of her gifts! I totally forgot about it, but a few weeks ago she dropped this super cute sign thing off at my house. Well, the catch was was that I was supposed to turn around and do the same thing....but I'm lazy and never did. So here goes....a year later....
The game works like this-the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going (or be lazy and copy and paste like I did). So come on people, even stalkers who visit but never comment (I know you're out there), leave a comment because chances are, I probably stalk you as well :) Hey we all like presents, right?
Send me an email with your address, to: courtneymaxfield@gmail.com
I have no idea what I'll make, (I'm not very crafty) or when you will get it (maybe 3 years from now...), but I promise it will be super cool and amazing....just like me!
Remember only the first three get a gift....so be quick!

little letters.

Dear Vampire Diaries,
It pains me that you will not be on again for another 6 weeks. We are in a fight.
Dear negative degree weather in the TC,
WTF? This is not ok.
WTF? This is not ok.
Dear New Car,
I love you so much. Please don't ever break down or do mean things to me. Also, I would appreciate it if you would drive great in snow/ice.
p.s. I love your heated seats the best...although, it does make me feel a little like I'm peeing my pants when they are on.
Dear all my money,
Where did you go? Oh right....see above.
Dear treadmill at Club 24 Fitness,
I promise to see you tomorrow. My bed is just so warm at 5:30am when its -12 degrees outside.
.
Dear Miley Cyrus,
You are 17 years old and a millionaire. Share the wealth.
Dear Apple Dumplings/Turtle Cake,
Please stop being so dang delicious. You are killing my diet.
Dear compaines who send treats to our office,
You need to stop that was well.
.
Dear TJMaxx,
I promise to come see you soon. I recently made a very large purchase and have not had the funds to visit. I miss you.
Dear weekend,
You couldn't have come any sooner....well, yes you could have....5 days ago.

First Grown-up Purchase
I bought a car!!!
.
2008 Hyundai Sonata
And I got a screamin' good deal on it! I found the exact same car online, but it had 10,000 more miles on it then mine....and it was $6,000 MORE than I paid!
.
My favorite features:
Heated leather seats (heaven on earth)
XM Satellite Radio
6 disc CD player
A fun "Home Link" system (I can open the garage door by pushing a little button on my rear-view mirror.)
V6 engine
Did I mention the heated seats???
.
This car was meant for me. All I have to say is...good things come to those who wait! I have been looking for a car since....April. Yes, 8 months. Yes, I'm a little indecisive...ok A LOT indecisive.
.
But, I finally made a decision, and I am very pleased with my purchase.
.
And the best part...I will be able to pay it off in just a couple months!
.
The not-so-best-part....writing the biggest check I've ever written in my life :(
.
But all is well.......I am proof that money CAN buy happiness!
.
Now, I just need a name for it. Any ideas?
